Raider boys win district 5/6 trophy

The Lake Roosevelt Raiders beat the Brewster Bears for the District 5/6 title 59-32.
The decisive win proved the Raiders are head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the new Central Washington 2B League, in one player’s case, literally.
Ty Egbert dominated the boards and blocked shots with a vengeance, at times with enough force to intimidate Brewster players.
Egbert’s efforts were bolstered by a cross-team effort that set the Raiders on a very early lead.
The Raiders will play next Friday against the winner of the District 7 championship, which will be played tonight between Colfax and Northwest Christian for the regional title in “Round 1” of the state tournament.
More to come when statistics are available.
