Fire now 60% contained

The Leahy Junction Fire that has been burning in heavy sage  and native grasses since Tuesday evening 
is reported to be sixty (60) percent contained.  The fire is estimated to have burned two thousand (2000)
acres and was lightning caused.      

 One hundred personnel are currently assigned to the incident.  At the present time their are no
structures threatened.  The plan is to have containment  of the fire by Saturday, August 7th.  

 Seventeen agencies are being represented in the State Mobilation that was activated at 7:30 pm
Wednesday.  Alan Lawson, the Incident Commander of the  Southwest Region Incident Management Team 
has taken charge of the incident . The objective for the day remains as stated earlier to keep the fire north 
of Road 20, East of Road P and help with containment lines.
