Grand Coulee Dam School District’s assessed value per student is about half the next poorest district. If District voters did approve a bond levy to build a new school and taxed themselves at the highest rate in the state, they still couldn’t raise anywhere near enough.
That’s the essential point that district leaders and state Sen. Linda Parlette want to get across to federal officials here from congressional offices. We’ll see how it goes.Scott Hunter
